Hot ginseng tea is a great way to enjoy the health benefits of ginseng, but by brewing ginseng in hot water, some of the most fragile chemical compounds in the root can be damaged. By cold brewing ginseng tea, all the most fragile chemical compounds in the root are preserved.
Cold Brew Ginseng Tea Recepie
- Add approximately 1 ounce of dried ginseng to a 12 fluid ounce jar. Ginseng prongs and fibers work great for this since the smaller pieces require less time to steep.
- Fill the jar with room temperature filtered water.
- Allow the jar to steep for between 4 to 6 weeks and shake every few days for maximum strength.
- Enjoy 1 to 2 fluid ounces of the cold brew ginseng tea with a spoonful of honey for taste.
